Description

This listed château was built in one go in 1226 for the youngest son of the Kings of France, Count Robert III de Dreux, known as "Gâteblé". It is a rare and perfect example of the military architecture of Philippe Auguste, surviving in its entirety on its original plan: the enclosure, still partially surrounded by water, forms a 70 m square, flanked by 8 cylindrical towers and a powerful, isolated keep, exceptionally well preserved. After several centuries of war, pillage, siege and murder, this ensemble now forms a lovely, romantic setting. Tours are available, and you'll be given a history of the site. From May to October (the wedding months!), you can also hire the rooms to celebrate your union for up to 200 seated guests and 400 for cocktails. The owners leave you free to choose your caterer, decorator, DJ... Everything is done to make your evening unforgettable!
