The Abbaye de Saint-Hilaire is a former monastery of the Carmelites near Ménerbes in France. According to legend, the original layout of the monastery dates back to a hermitage of St. Castor of Apt, who is said to have lived here. Louis IX of France stopped here in 1254 on his way back from the Crusade to the Holy Land and founded a small priory on a hill overlooking the Luberon for Carmelites traveling with him.
