The Route des Crêtes is a road in the Vosges, which connects all the heights of the Vosges massif in a north-south direction. The road is located between the Col du Bonhomme in the north and the town of Cernay in the south. The road was built by the French army in 1914. Due to its location at an altitude of about 1200 meters against a ridge, this area is fully exposed to the wind, which gives trees less opportunity to grow here. This gives you beautiful views, including the lake of Kruth-Wildenstein.
