The Château de Chantilly is one of the jewels of France?s heritage. It is also the work of a man with an exceptional destiny: Henri d?Orléans, Duc d?Aumale, son of the last French king, Louis-Philippe. Considered the greatest collector of his time, this prince made Chantilly the showcase for his countless masterpieces and precious manuscripts. The château has stood the test of time, as the Duc d?Aumale bequeathed it to the Institut de France in 1886 - the perfect opportunity to take a trip back in time to the heart of a princely residence. In tribute to his illustrious predecessors, the Princes de Condé, the Duc d'Aumale named the complex the Musée Condé.
Numerous rooms are open to visitors:
- Painting galleries: Le Musée Condé, Le Santuario, La Tribune, Le Cabinet des Clouet, Le Cabinet du Giotto, La Galerie de Psyché and La Galerie des Cerfs.
- The Apartments: The grand apartments with La Grande Singerie, the Galerie des Batailles, the Chambre de M. le Prince, the Grand Cabinet d'Angle, the Salon de Musique, the antechamber, the Salle des Gardes and the private apartments of the Duke and Duchess.
- The Cabinet des Livres In the heart of the Château de Chantilly, extend your visit with a tour of the park: "an exceptional panorama of the art of the Western garden designed by André Le Nôtre"; and a visit to the Grandes Écuries, home to the muée du Cheval and the famous equestrian shows devoted to the art of haute-école dressage.
1-day adult and child tickets for the château and Grandes Écuries (excluding shows) are also on sale at the Chantilly and Senlis reception desks.
