Built in 1900 for the Universal Exhibition, the Orsay station was transformed into a museum in 1986. Its architecture and the richness of its collection make this building one of the most beautiful museums in the world. On several levels, the Musée d'Orsay covers the whole of Western artistic creation (painting, sculpture, decorative arts, photography, architecture, etc.) from 1848 to 1914. The ground floor houses the sculpture collection, the 2nd level exhibits the great works of Gauguin and Van Gogh and the 5th level is devoted to the Impressionist movement.
