Three minutes away from the Château de la Brède, come and discover the history of our region 20 million years ago, when Aquitaine was covered by the sea in a tropical climate...
The Geological Nature Reserve of Saucats-La Brède opens its paths for free walks. Ideally, you should go to the Maison de la Réserve (free entrance to the museum) where you will be given a location map, or take a guided tour lasting about two hours.
This begins with the museum collections (shark teeth, corals, tropical shells) and continues with a short walk in the forest by a river where you can admire, among other things, thousands of fossils in the open air.
We also offer workshops for children (from 6 years old) accompanied by adults with different themes ranging from the discovery of fossils to small animals.
