The church was built in 1733. The bell tower of the church is the third one, the date of the last one is under the porch: 1894. The two previous bell towers were destroyed, the first by a fire, the second by lightning. The present one, which seems to have shrunk, was so wanted, as the City Council of that time did not want to take the risk of putting up a third spire. The church is dedicated to Saint Barbara, patron saint of miners among others. The high altar located in the choir is the one that Abbot Morizot had composed with copper from the mines of Bussang. In the choir, magnificent stalls and an abbey pulpit remind us that the woodwork comes from the abbey of Moyenmoutier. Dismantled during the French Revolution and stored in the attics of the Préfecture d'Épinal, they were bought by the Commune of Bussang for its church, and the Stations of the Cross are rare to see such large ones. The Bussang church has an organ, which was protected as a historical monument in 2013, as were the stalls, the altar, the Way of the Cross and the chandeliers. This instrument was built by organ builder Jean-Nicolas JEANPIERRE in 1838. It is of great interest for the organ heritage of the Vosges because it is an interesting witness of the Vosges organ building of the beginning of the 19th century. It is composed of numerous pieces, including a 56-note keyboard, and is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Sundays.
