The calvaire itself was built around 1850 , because the cemetery was moved in 1846 and the enclosure in 1847.
On it is written:
DOM - TO INVITATE BELIEVERS TO THE DEVOTION OF JESUS CRUCIFIED - LOUIS ETIENNE BORN IN MOUSTIER HAS HAS THIS CALVARY ESTABLISHED
Louis ETIENNE was born in 1809 in Moustier and married in 1851 in Farciennes (Hainault, Belgium), where he lived until his death in 1861.
On this Sunday in mid-September 1928, Abbé Ego gathered his parishioners from Eppe-Sauvage and Moustier-en-Fagne to inaugurate the large cross in front of the Calvary in the Moustier cemetery. Before the procession left, costumed parishioners gathered in front of the priory, at the entrance to the richly decorated church.
