This monument is located on Place Jean Jaurès , on the same square as the monumental monument to the dead of 1914-18 and 1939-45.
It commemorates the victims of the 1870 war and was designed by Croisy in 1907.
The war memorial from 1870 is topped by a cast-iron statue of Aristide Croisy called "le Mobile".
The statue is a model of the monument to General Chanzy (Le Mans). Certain figures from this monument were selected to be duplicated, in this case a mobile with a gun. It was manufactured and distributed by the DURENNE company after the war of 1870.
