NEW DREAMS
An Afghan student arrives at Amiens University to study literature and become a translator. He is soon confronted with loneliness, glances, nostalgia and administrative worries that send him back on the roads of Europe, but also with the encounters and twists and turns that make the lives of exiles epic and timeless adventures.
In this impressively simple one-man show, young actor Marco Caraffa, directed by Amiénoise Christine Letailleur, brilliantly embodies the text by Aiat Fayez, who has made exile his homeland. This tiny show, grand in its subject matter and the emotional territories it traverses, takes each spectator back to his or her own intimate exile, and fervently blows out the embers of fraternity.
