Atelier Terre et Bois - Stéphane MIGLIERINA

Both a ceramist and a woodturner, I have been living for thirteen years in the magnificent bastide of Monpazier. My creations are oriented towards the rare marriage between ceramics, worked according to the "Raku" technique, and turned wood, mainly walnut, a local species.
My pieces are entirely turned, which allows me to obtain, after the assembly of the elements, sober and purified forms. The continuity and the accuracy of the lines are essential to me.
The "Raku" technique allows me to create works from which a strong contrast between the elements emerges. Indeed, the marked cracks of the enamel are in opposition with the soft and warm veining of the wood.
This assembly of materials, so different and so close at the same time, appeals and seduces by the timelessness of the work, but also by the strong contrast and harmony that emerge.
