After an apprenticeship of ten years in a workshop in Lille with two renowned luthiers, he participated in the making of double basses for the Bastille Opera, Stockholm and Taiwan. He worked in the making, restoration and repair of classical quartets and double basses and developed a sector for the creation of baroque instruments before settling in Périgueux in 1991
