In the 16th century, the glass factory appeared and, under the ownership of the Marquis de Vogüe, took the name of "Royal Glass Factory of Sainte Catherine". But it was in the 18th century that the Great Hall was built.
Around 1815, Mr François Pouyat bought the whole of the buildings to create a royal porcelain factory which, in turn, prospered until 1865. The hall, an imposing brick building, restored in 1980, was the centre of a considerable activity of which there are still many traces in the built heritage.
