This route starts in Saint-Jean de Maurienne and climbs the Col de la Croix de Fer via Col du Mollard. This way, you avoid the tunnels on the more classic route. A small descent after the top of the Croix de Fer takes you to the top of the Glandon and back down to La Chambre. The route finishes with the spectacular Lacets de Montvernier.
