This aquaduct was built to get water from sources and rivers in this neighbourhood to the Neokastro in Pylos. That castle is built on a limestone block and doesn’t have a natural source of groundwater.
The Turks built this stone aqueduct for the castle Neocastro. It has a length of about 15 km originating from the source of Koumpe at Handrinos Village and ends in the castle of Pylos.
