On this spot, the Holocaust of Kalavryta took place on December 13th, 1943. The +14 old boys and men were selected from the village and shot here as a retribution for the killing of German soldiers captured by partisans.
The Nazis machine-gunned down 696 of them. Only 13 survived.
The drama took more than 2 hours. The list of killed people displays also the age. Yo can notice that most of them were boys between 15 and 17.
