Description

Limestones do form soil, but very slowly. Once the soil has eroded, it takes centuries before a thick soil is formed again.

Here you will find many deeper limestone soils in numerous protected pockets that vegetation makes good use of.

Usually soil formation starts in small karst solutions and cracks in the rock. Little by little, soil and plants take up space in these small ecological places.
