Description

This lake is a hot spot for foating solar panels. On 9th November 2023, the floating solar panels that were built above the dam became operational. It has the capacity of 192 MW, making it the largest floating solar power plant in Southeast Asia. With its 340,000 photovoltaic panels generating 145 megawatts of electricity, enough for 50,000 households. The plant is part of the country's plan to use over 200 reservoirs to generate renewable electricity. Indonesia is aiming for net-zero emissions by 2060, but could hit that target by 2055.
