Two ancient roads from the North, the Via Flaminia (Antiqua) and the Via Cassia come together at the Ponte Milvia over the Tiber river. In the 17th century the brigde was named Ponte Molle. When Queen Christina entered Rome the 20th of December 1655, she didn't cross this brigde: she turned westward straight to the Vatican. But for her ceremonial cavalcade into the city three days later she did cross the Ponte Molle. First she left the town from the Vatican to the north, then at the Ponte Molle turned right and crossed the river going southward over the Via Flaminia. At the turning point at the brigde you can't miss the nice bar with a shaded pavement.
