The San Zeno Cathedral is located in Piazza del Duomo and is the main church of Pistoia. It is characterized by the typical Tuscan black and white facade. Highlights include the Dossale di San Jacopo and a Della Robbia relief above the portal. The current version of the cathedral is the result of a renovation in the 12th century.
The San Jacopo Chapel (also called Chapel of the Crucifix) is on the right. Here one can admire the Dossale di San Jacopo, one of the most precious pieces of silver in Italy, weighing almost a ton and consisting of 628 figures sculpted by various artists, including Brunelleschi.
The view of the tower is amazing. In the baptistery across the street you buy your tickets and go up with a guide.
