According to legend, prisoners were tortured and hanged under the 2 arches.
2 prisoners who were naked asked to be covered before they died. Instead of covering themselves , they tied the clothes around their ankles and wrists. Just before they were to be hanged , they escaped over the nearby wall . The idea was to use the clothing as a parachute. One crashed but the other landed alive on the outside. The guards were able to seize him, but the lord of the castle was amazed at his courage and forgave him.
