Pilgrims walk from Nuoro to the Santuario di San Francesco di Lula twice a year, on the feast of Francesco. Here they eat the rarest pasta in the world known as " Su filindeu ", which literally means " Threads of God ". The pasta is made by just three women and they only make it on the feast of San Francesco. And so it has been for 200 years. What is nice to know is that engineers at the famous Barilla pasta factory have not succeeded in making a machine that can imitate the pasta. The famous chef Jamie Oliver also made an attempt, but without a positive result. Twice a year, on 1 May and 4 October, an act of devotion takes place here.
