The church was built in 1931 as a parish church by the Archbishop of Palermo Luigi Lavitrano and was expanded and restored from 1935 to 1938.
It is an expression of the Italian rationalist architecture in Palermo between the two world wars.
The interior walls of the hall are rectangular in shape. The facade, in rectangular terracotta bricks , is original, with the inscription Spiritui Sancto Dicatum (Dedicated to the Holy Spirit) in white marble and at the top right AD 1938 XVI EF (Anno Domini 1938 XVI Era Fascista). Inside there are two canvases from 1939 by Umberto Valentino.
