Founded by GB Perollo in 1613 and dedicated to John the Baptist, the church was opened for worship by the Jesuits in 1615.
The facade, with sober Baroque shapes, is incomplete; the interior, with one nave, is large and light.
The vaults of the presbytery, the cross and the nave are elegantly filled with Baroque motifs and valuable bas-reliefs. There is no shortage of valuable works of art, including paintings by painters from Sacenza and elsewhere, and six stands with gold grilles that make the atmosphere very evocative. The church houses the Baroque-style marble sarcophagus by GB Perollo.
