Suder pumping station
In the Suder pumping station, it is experienced how the marshy land, which remained after the peat cutting, could be brought into cultivation by drainage. The Suder pumping station
was built in 1924 and was one of the first electric pumping stations in Friesland. The pumps give a good impression of the force with which the water movement took place. When the pumps grind, the water is pumped from a recently dug pond to the Nieuwe Vaart. The pumping station also hosts exhibitions by visual artists who are involved with the Frisian landscape.
