The Vondelpark is the most famous city park in the Netherlands. Every year about the same number of visitors come here as there are inhabitants of Belgium. Especially on King's day this park is worth a visit, especially for the children, because then you can play games designed and made by other children and buy lots of old toys.
In the 60s of the last century the current playgrounds were created and in the 80s the open-air theater.
In 1996, the Vondelpark was recognized as a national monument.
The Vondelpark is designed in English landscape style. It currently has a size of 45 hectares.
