On March 11, 1933, Harrie Bosch and wife Josephina Hakfoort received a building permit for the building they called 'De Sportvriend'. It was close to the new (then!) football field of RKBVV, the association that was renamed on April 18, 1945: MvR. The café was also the clubroom where the players could change clothes.
'Black' Bosch was coach of the first of MvR when it became champion. The café was also the clubhouse of the pigeon club de Blauwe Doffer and of course you could play billiards. It wasn't just sports friends who came; There were also regular bird exhibitions.
