Ruurlo

Ruurlo (Low Saxon: Reurle) is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland.
Until 2005, Ruurlo was an independent municipality, but as a result of a municipal reorganization, Ruurlo was then merged with the neighboring municipalities Borculo, Eibergen and Neede to form Berkelland.Ruurlo is located on the Zutphen-Winterswijk railway line, which opened in 1878, and has its own station. The main road between Zutphen and Winterswijk runs past Ruurlo, and the branch towards Lochem runs through the core of the town. At the end of the 20th century, a bypass was built around the village that relieved traffic in the core. Around the village of Ruurlo are the areas Het Broek, Brinkmanshoek, De Bruil, De Haar, De Heurne and the Veldhoek. It has manufacturing industry, in addition to a lot of agriculture and animal husbandry. Tourism is also an important pillar of existence, due to its beautiful location in the Achterhoek landscape and the presence of historical heritage. The village has a flourishing club life with, among other things, a football club and a music club. Nearest cities: Doetinchem, Zutphen, Lochem and Winterswijk.
