Through a mixed forest you walk back to the Remmerdense Heide. With some luck you can hear yellow buntings singing in a solitary birch. The rest of the forest was cut down in 2011 to make way for heathland. A nice side effect is that the various burial mounds in the open field are now clearly visible. The oldest specimens have probably been here for 6,000 years.
