Right in front of you you will see the current Laathof, it dates from 1721 and originally belonged to the Sankt-Mariënstifft from Aachen, the current cathedral and was therefore owned by the ecclesiastical power (diocese).
A Laathof served as a tax building for the late (semi-free citizens) and also as an administration and courthouse, thus a kind of town hall
The current owners, the Huijnen-Debeij family, have been in the family since 1804, they have managed to preserve this typical Limburg Carré farm in its current historic state. Since 1979 the farm has been operated as a party farm
