Filosche Peel: the topographer wrote down phonetically what the inhabitants of Peel told him, because they said 'Veluwse Peel', referring to the high sand ridge in the peat that resembled the Veluwe.
Eternal life: named after a vanished inn of that name.
Cow udder: peninsula in the shape of a cow's udder.
