Lievendaal is a former castle and recognized knight's court town near Amerongen, municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug in the Dutch province Utrecht.In 1419 Jan van Driebergen, bastard son of Willem van Abcoude, was granted by his nephew Jacob van Gaasbeek with a homestead and ten morgen of land near Amerongen. The loan book from 1498 speaks of a 'stenen huys mitter hoffstede myt allen synre tymeringe ende myt thien margen lantsz ... streckende mytten enen eynde aen de spyckdyck [en met het andere einde aan de] ghemeyne strate van den dorpe'. In 1536 the estate was recognized by the States of Utrecht as a knight's court city.
