Bosbeek de Swalm rises in Germany, south of Wegberg in North Rhine-Westphalia. In total, the water travels 45 kilometers towards its final destination, the Meuse. For centuries, the Swalm has been the designer of this landscape, and is always the lowest point. The water maneuvers along gravel and sandbanks. If the bends in which he pinches himself become too wide, the water chooses the shortest way: straight ahead. The flow in the bend stops and changes from a pool to swamp to forest soil.
