The Brakkeberg is a tough climb on the dark Vogelzangweg that runs from Geulhem to Berg. The slope is 680 meters long with an average gradient of 9.7 % The steepest part is 11.6 %. This slope is also known as "the back of the Cauberg"
At the bottom of the Brakkeberg is the castle where cycling reporter Jean Nelissen lived.
