The Vlist is a small river in the Krimpenerwaard in South Holland. The Vlist runs from Schoonhoven to Haastrecht where it flows into the Hollandsche IJssel. The Vlist is a peat river and was used as a boezem (temporary storage place for surplus polder water) for the polders around the river, there were also many mills for pumping the water on the banks of the river.
Previously, the Vlist was used for transporting goods, nowadays the river mainly has a tourist function.
