Landgoed Het Laar consists of Huize het Laer, more than 50 hectares of forest, an ice cellar, deer camp, coach house and peacock house. The area pays off for a lovely walk where children can visit the deer camp.
On the Landgoed Het Laar there used to be a castle, which was close to the Regge. However, it was razed to the ground. Huize Het Laer was built on the current site around 1740. In the immediate vicinity of the house you will find the Ice Cellar in which bats have now found their home.
Het Laar borders directly on ommen station. Many day trippers start a walk or bike ride from here.
