The Convent of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart was built in 1927 to a design by C. Hartman. The construction sum was 20,358.64 guilders. On 2 March 1928, the sisters arrived from Moerdijk at the station in Dalfsen. Father Galema had brought the sisters to Dalfsen with the aim of providing Catholic education. The sister house included a three-class primary school, custody school and sewing school. The nuns soon formed a familiar image in Dalfsen and were highly appreciated by the Catholic Dalfsen residents. In 1953 they celebrated their silver jubilee. In 1962 the primary school was led by lay people and in 1968 and 1972 the VGLO and the custody school followed respectively. On August 16, 1974, after 36 years, they said goodbye to Dalfsen. Five of the nine nuns went to Lemelerveld. Het Klooster is now used as a Bed & Breakfast. Many memories of the nuns have been preserved.
