De Valk is an octagonal overhead porter flour mill on the old city wall of Montfoort that has been designated as a national monument. The mill was built in 1753 by order of Hendrik Utenhove, mayor of Montfoort. Probably in the beginning of the 19th century, the mill was given the name 'De Valk'. The origin of the name is unknown. The mill stands on the spot where a mill stood in the centuries before. This was also a windmill.
