Behind the Loreto monastery is a hillside forest, in which there is a Lourdes grotto, a dilapidated chapel, fourteen Stations of the Cross and a well-kept cemetery for the Sisters of the convent. The Stations of the Cross are part of the overall tradition of the Christian Easter. It is a recreation of the Passion of Christ from the palace of the Roman procurator Pontius Pilate to the hill of Calvary, the place of his execution.
In the Roman Catholic tradition, it has also been a religious exercise since the fifteenth century, taking place on Good Friday, among other things. During the Stations of the Cross, the faithful pray and commemorate along fourteen so-called Stations of the Cross.
