At this spot we find a water meter and some remnants of practice concrete bombs from the 2nd world war.
The groundwater meter is a tube with a scale, a measuring instrument, on which you can read how deep the groundwater is below ground level. A similar instrument is the monitoring tube, but it has a slightly different function.
As part of the Water in the Sounding project, groundwater meters have been installed at dozens of locations in the Netherlands. At the meters there are signs with explanations that explain the operation of the instrument and one can read whether the groundwater water level is too high (wet feet), or too low (desiccation). Depending on the location, each instrument has a different scale.
Germans practiced in this area during the Second World War with practice concrete bombs. In this spot we find some specimens that have been left behind.
