The Swan rises...

The foundation has set itself the goal of rebuilding the mill, which was demolished in 1964, in its full splendor. Many people from Vinkel share our regret that the mill disappeared from our village in 1964 and in 2010 we thought the time was right to put that feeling into action. Hence the establishment of Stichting De Vinkelse Molen.

For more than 10 years, 140 volunteers have been working together on their dream. Windmill De Zwaan back on the horizon of the beautiful village of Vinkel. The original mill was exported to Holland in 1964; Michigan in America. In 2009 the ideas for the reconstruction of a replica were born and in 2014 the construction work started. Now we are almost ready to finalize the whole thing. On Saturday, July 18, we will place the windmill cap. On Saturday, August 29, we will put the rods (2 rods together form 4 blades). Soon after that, we will start a test run. The official opening is scheduled for 20 September 2020, subject to corona measures. Open every Sunday! In the Onder de Meule space you can already enjoy a snack and a drink in a friendly atmosphere. This space is open every Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.
