Dirk Bal is a realist artist and after a long search for the most suitable subject, he has decided to stop the search and
choose the peace, quiet and balance that he lets run like a thread through his existence.
Especially in the paintings, in which the two main themes are, the still life and the model, Dirk Bal seeks an almost everydayness that is in harmony. A self-evident attitude with a refined guilelessness.
The bronze sculptures are almost always ballet-like female figures that exude a graceful balance caught in a quiet moment. Dirk is also a portrait painter and works in various styles and possibilities.
