In the stately Dordrecht House, the gentlemen of the water board met and spent the night when they came to inspect the Diefdijk. The carved coats of arms of Holland and the Alblasserwaard in the façade are reminders of this. The Dordrecht House is one of the few buildings that was built on the Diefdijk instead of at the bottom of the dike.
The Diefdijk is one of the most important inner dikes in the Netherlands and is part of the New Dutch Waterline. All in all, a unique building in a unique place, both of which breathe history
