At the place where the street of De Gebuurte bends from the Overslagdijk, between border posts 300 and 301, there is an Austrian post from 1770. This 'Austrian' was not foreseen here but is still in the border line, although you have to search a bit to find him. It is therefore only 75 cm above ground.
In the French period (1795-1813) the boundary line between the Austrian Netherlands and State Flanders changed here and there and the poles were no longer in use and were sold. That's why so few of them can be found. After the French period, the original border line was restored by King William I, but no longer as a land border but as a provincial border.
