No problems to report on the route, still nice variety of nature and history and on the last km a terrace.

City 'Axel', written mentions from 991, after a meaning of 'castle on the water' (Aksele) is a polder area with many creeks, a nature and recreation zone and here and there remnants of a war past through the centuries. We start along the water tower (from 1937, 60 meters high and you can climb inside the tower) to the 'Smisschorre' a wooded recreation area with an airfield for gliders and ultralight aircraft, a golf course with 18 holes, a cross terrain (a bit noisier on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons), an artificial forest with set up works of art, play forest and bicycle cross course. Other sides of the Kinderdijk have a riding school, dog dressage, football fields and an open air swimming pool. Then we enter the city via the old railway (line 54 Mechelen - Terneuzen) past the city mill, the first grain mill was there from 1750 and the regional museum 'het Warenhuis' near the market. Parking and departures on the Kinderdijk, gps house no. 7, Axel. Three motorhome pitches are also provided here. The walk is a loop of 6 km and loop of 8 km.
