Five large trenches have been dug in the dunes of the Zuid-Kennemerland. Through these notches in the sea elm, large amounts of sand blow into the dune area behind. Dune violets, sand lizards and small mother-of-pearl butterflies, the fresh, calcareous sand gives them a boost.
