Attractive breeding area for species such as Kluut and Redshank. Herring Gull too. Incidental Visdief. High-water refuge for waders such as Redshank, Kluut, Ringed Plover and Silver Plover. Often many Black Riders. Spoonbill and Little Egret too. Winter Teal, Shoveler and Pintail. The Icelandic Black-tailed Godwit also hibernates here. Back on the other side of the Westerscheldezeedijk with a view of the Westerschelde with on the other side in clear weather zeeuws-flanders. Via ford ellewoutsdijk the little harbor then through the village of Ellewoutsdijk.
