Description

Elephant Stay, a working elephant village dedicated to conserve elephants, is located a kilometer up stream of the Lopburi River on the right bank in the vicinity of the ancient Elephant Kraal. Elephants are bathing regularly in the river or can be seen on the river bank and along the road leading to Wat Boromma Wong.

(Do not approach any elephants, unless you got contact with an elephant handler prior. A Thai woman was killed here in May 2013, while offering some food to an elephant. Her husband was gored and seriously wounded, when he tried to help her. There are also reports that mahouts have been killed in location. As you will see, many elephants stay in the hot sun for the whole day without protection/water and some might get irritated. Stay clear for your own safety.)
