Wat Chedi Kao Yot was constructed in the Sukhothai Period and located on the Khao Yai mountain ridge, outside Si Satchanalai town wall to the west. The temple was built on a natural rock levelled to serve as a foundation. At the front of the temple stands a hall of worship with stairs leading to the main stupa. The stupa, mandapa-shaped, has 12-indented corners. The top of the main stupa is decorated with eight smaller stupas; four on the corners and four over the niches. The chamber inside the stupa enshrines a seated Buddha image. The walls are decorated with monochrome mural paintings compared to the mural paintings of the same period as Wat Chedi Jet Thaeo. The same temple is also called Wat Chedi Jet Yot, meaning the temple of the seven spires. Wall paintings and some inscriptions in Thai alphabets of the Sukhothai period were found in the niches.
