This temple is situated in Rua Yai Sub-district on the west bank of the Suphan Buri River (Tha Jin River). Locally called Wat Phra That, it was constructed during the early Ayutthaya period in the heart of the ancient town of Suphanphum. The main stupa housed once relics of the Buddha. The monastery was sacked and left in ruins. The main prang was built from bricks without the use of cement, which archaeologists made believe that the structure could date already from the pre-Ayutthaya period.
